Biography

John A. Acampora is first and foremost an extremely dedicated and knowledgeable business attorney with a focus on problem solving and conflict resolution. He is the Principal of Cohen and Acampora and has zealously and successfully represented thousands of clients over the past 55 years.

John’s practice includes a focus on commercial real estate matters, financing, general business counseling, and litigation. He counsels local and national companies, developers, investors and organizations in various real estate matters, including office, retail, industrial, mixed-use, and lease transactions for both landlords and tenants, the purchase and sale of commercial real estate, and the analysis and negotiation of complex commercial contracts.

John is frequently involved in complex lease restructurings and has represented large corporate entities as well as individuals on a broad range of real estate projects. John assists clients and lowers their risk factors in managing real estate due diligence for merger and acquisition transactions, succession planning, land use and environmental law. 

John serves as general corporate counsel to a wide range of business clients in a variety of industries, including automobile dealerships and repair facilities, vehicle recycling, marinas, construction, restaurants and banquet facilities, automobile recovery and towing, healthcare, medical transportation, maritime/petroleum terminals and manufacturing facilities.

John represents real estate lenders, developers and investors in all aspects of sales, financing, leasing, property tax and land use matters, and has extensive experience in the related areas of tax, construction, zoning and environmental law issues.

In the litigation area, John’s primary focus is on commercial litigation, personal injury, environmental and land use litigation and property tax valuation litigation in both Federal and State Courts. 

John has earned the trust and confidence of clients and executives through his 55 years of experience and knowledge in obtaining successful strategies. And, clients depend on his expertise to help navigate a wide variety of problems, some of which are highly complex.

John is respected and well-known for his passion, dedication and excellent negotiation skills which play a crucial role in achieving successful outcomes for his clients.
